Odù centers the audio-visual experiences of Black and Indigenous artists and activists.
*Eggun is the Yoruban term referring to the Spirit of our Ancestors.
Odù is a grassroots festival run by a small team of 3 Black, Indigenous, Queer artists. We grant community stipends to venues, staff and artists driven by your donations.

About Odù Film Festival
-
"Odù" is an immersive festival that highlights the sonic and visual experiences of black and indigenous artists and activists from around the world.
"Odù," as commonly used in its original Yoruba language, is a term that has multiple meanings depending on the context. In the context of the festival, Odù is a compass, directing us towards a future that cares for the Earth, our unique and collective stories, and our urgent needs to create accessible platforms where our communities can exchange tools across borders.
Odù is created, organized, and produced by the small but powerful team of the Black Freedom Fellowship: a movement of Black and Indigenous artists and activists investing and exchanging temporal, communal, and financial resources to create vital futures for our collective survival.
Odù is partially sponsored by Artist As First Responder, the Black Freedom Fund of the Black Freedom Fellowship, and Deep Waters Dance Theater. The festival also has institutional support from the Cultural Foundation of the State of Bahia (Funceb/SecultBA), through the Audiovisual Directorate (DIMAS).

Timeline:
• Submissions open January 22, 2023
• Submissions close March 22, 2023
• Artists are notified April 2023.
Rules:
• We accept Films of any genre that are made by people of African, Black or Indigenous lineage.
• We accept films from anywhere in the world. Films that include Portuguese subtitles are preferred however we accept films in the English language.
• We accept short films up to 30 minutes.
• We accept feature films up to 120 minutes.
By submitting your film you agree to the following:
• Parts of your film - including a trailer, teaser, film poster, extracts, and/or stills - may be used for promotional purposes.
• You do not receive compensation for the showing of your film
• Multiple entries are allowed for each filmmaker and each entry may be entered in multiple categories.

Linha do Tempo:
• Inscrições abertas em 22 de janeiro de 2023
• As inscrições encerram em 22 de março de 2023
• Os artistas são notificados em abril de 2023.
Regras:
• Aceitamos filmes de qualquer gênero produzidos por pessoas de linhagem africana, negra ou indígena.
• Aceitamos filmes de qualquer parte do mundo. Os filmes que incluem legendas em português são preferidos, no entanto, aceitamos filmes no idioma inglês.
• Aceitamos curtas-metragens de até 30 minutos.
• Aceitamos longas-metragens de até 120 minutos.
Ao enviar seu filme, você concorda com o seguinte:
• Partes do seu filme - incluindo um trailer, teaser, pôster do filme, trechos e/ou fotos - podem ser usadas para fins promocionais.
• Você não recebe compensação pela exibição de seu filme a menos que você possa confirmar seu endereço no Estado da Bahia.
